Airdrop Registration Process​

To register for season 1 of the WCT airdrop, follow these steps:

Airdrop 1

  1. Visit the Airdrop page and click the "Register Here" button.

  2. Connect your EVM wallet:

    • Important: Use a mobile wallet that supports WalletConnect
    • We strongly recommend using a WalletConnect-enabled wallet for registration

  3. Build out your profile by adding:

    • Additional wallet addresses.
    • Your GitHub account.

  4. Add your email address to receive notifications about your eligibility status.

  5. Check back in November for an update on your status.

If you don't connect a mobile wallet that supports WalletConnect, your profile will have an alert indicating that your past usage may not be accurately assessed. This could potentially affect your eligibility for the airdrop. To ensure the best chance of eligibility, please connect at least one mobile wallet that supports WalletConnect.

Understanding Your Profile​

Your "profile" for the WCT Airdrop is a comprehensive representation of your engagement with the WalletConnect Network and related technologies. Here's what you need to know:

  • Purpose: Season 1 of the WCT Airdrop considers your past activity and usage of the WalletConnect Network, as well as contributions to certain open source technologies.
  • Multiple Connections: You can connect multiple wallet addresses and your GitHub account to your profile.
  • Expanded Assessment: By adding multiple connections, you increase the scope of your past activity and usage that can be assessed, potentially improving your eligibility for the airdrop.

To maximize your potential eligibility, consider connecting all relevant wallet addresses and your GitHub account to your profile.

Connecting via WalletConnect​

When you see the option to "Connect via WalletConnect" during the registration process, here's what it means:

  • Desktop Process:
    1. Click "Connect via WalletConnect"
    2. You'll see a QR code
    3. Scan this QR code with your mobile wallet
    4. Select the wallet address you want to use for login
  • Mobile Process:
    1. Click "Connect via WalletConnect"
    2. You'll be prompted to choose a mobile wallet
    3. Connect directly with your selected mobile wallet

Using the WalletConnect option ensures that your past usage of the WalletConnect Network is correctly measured, which can be important for your airdrop eligibility.

Eligibility Criteria​

There are two categories of eligibility criteria for the airdrop:

Activity as a User​

Your activity across the Network will be assessed, including:

  • Connections
  • Signatures
  • On-chain activity

Both recent and overall past activity with the WalletConnect Network factor into eligibility.

Activity as a Contributor​

Past contributions to the WalletConnect Network and related projects are considered, including:

  • CAIPs
  • EIPs
  • Ethereum SDKs
  • Non-EVM SDKs
  • Open source projects that positively impact the onchain ecosystem

The retrospective snapshot for season 1 considers activity from the network's inception up to September 12, 2024. Activity after this date will not be considered.

Important Dates​

  • Registration Period: September 24, 2024 - October 18, 2024
  • Eligibility Check: November 2024

Token Allocation​

  • Total tokens for season 1 airdrop: 50,000,000 WCT
  • User category allocation: 80% of the pool (4% of total token allocation)
  • Contributor category allocation: 20% of the pool (1% of total token allocation)

Details on how and when to claim will be shared in November when eligibility information is released.
